Torchmate Pantograph Shape Cutting Machine Plans
Hundreds of these machines were manufactured by Torchmate over a 17 year period, until we ended production 1n 1998 so we could focus exclusively on cnc cutting systems. This produced a flurry of requests for construction plans for the little workhorse pantograph machine. We are now happy to be able to offer the plans to you. This offer is for the plans only. You purchase all necessary components from sources we identify.
Here's your chance to build your own automatic shape cutting machine for a total investment of under $400. The unit has a capacity of 18" for circles, and 36" for straight lines. When cutting irregular shapes, as the 38" is compressed, the width capacity increases. The machine's capacity may be increased about 25% by slightly varying the design. Cutting speeds are infinitely variable from approximately 6 to 60 inches per minute in forward and reverse.
Included are detailed instructions for making the machine, making your own super-strength magnetic tracer, support stand and more. We even provide you with a source for the special rare earth magnets used in the magnetic tracer, and for the electrical components, bushings, etc.
Plans include a full 27 pages of diagrams, photos, and text that will save you weeks of experimentation and dead-ends.
