Duro Shine 686 High Gloss Polyurethane Sealer
686 HIGH GLOSS is a water-based polyurethane sealer, which is modified with an acrylic to provide a traffic resistant finish, while maintaining enough flexibility to avoid cracking. 686 is a uv protected, which not only has the high gloss of an oil-based urethane. but out-performs oil-based products, without the negative attributes. 686 is both a sealer, and decorative finish for use on slate, concrete, stamped concrete, clay, stone, masonry, paver tiles, brick and grout.
DESCRIPTION: ULTRA HIGH GLOSS 686 PLUS is a Self-Crosslinking Acrylic /Polyurethane low V.O.C. Sealer that has great chemical resistance, early water-resistance, and good hot tire resistance. 686 PLUS has a v.o.c. below 100 which meets all Socal A.Q.M.D. requirements. It performs like, and looks like oil based lacquer, but it is water based, and a breathable sealer. Use 686 PLUS in areas where hydrostatic pressure exists. This product makes oil based lacquer obsolete. 686 PLUS meets, or beats the performance any product in gloss, depth of shine, protection and hardness. And it is easy to work with, and no overwhelming, or depressing heavy odors.
ULTRA HIGH GLOSS 686 PLUS is both a sealer and decorative finish for use on porous surfaces like stone, masonry, paver tiles, brick, clay and concrete. It provides a hard shell water resistant shiny finish that gives the appearance of a wet ceramic glaze. The results are revolutionary compared with other oil, or water based products.
If you have not used 686 PLUS before; try some on a test sample to see that it is the effect you desire. If more traction is
needed; an anti-skid agent can be added.
DIRECTIONS: When applying ULTRA HIGH GLOSS 686 PLUS on paver tiles; first install tiles then clean well and let dry. Apply 686 PLUS with a brush, sprayer or roller, or sponge mop.
Be sure to work first coat into tiles so sealer penetrates deep into tile. When visibly dry; apply light coat. If the surface darkens like it is getting wet, it is not sealed yet, and needs another coat. When you apply the coat where the surface does not darken like it is wet; it is sealed.
Let dry over night. Grout the pavers. Wait for grout to cure, then after cleaned and dry; again apply ULTRA HIGH GLOSS 686 PLUS as above to the grout and stone. Work in well into grout. 686 PLUS will help strengthen grout as well as add to the beauty. Extra coats will add to the depth of shine. Allow 48 to 72 hours for the surface to cure. Walk on traffic in 4 hours.
DO NOT APPLY SEALER UNLESS THE SURFACE IS COMPLETELY DRY AND NEUTRALIZTED FROM ANY ACID USE.
For use on brick and stone; above directions apply.
COVERAGE: One gallon of ULTRA HIGH GLOSS 686 PLUS will cover approximately 200 to 250 square feet per gallon, depending on how porous the surface is. That is how much sealer we estimate on an average
surface to get it totally sealed.
LIMITS: Do not use below 55 degrees, or in hot mid-day direct sun. Do not let HIGH GLOSS 686 PLUS puddle or run down vertical surfaces. When testing for desired results; be sure to allow 48 to 72 hours for curing.
CAUTION: Although 686 PLUS is a relatively tame product; use rubber gloves when applying. Avoid contact with skin. Prolonged
exposure to vapors may be harmful or fatal. Use in well ventilated area. In conditions which do not permit good ventilation; use of a
breathing apparatus is recommended.
