These hi-tech balls are specifically designed to maxamize a ball mill's efficency. Actually, I like the variable sized used ones better because they have better packing-but to each his own.
These balls are about 1" in diameter they have a flat around the center of each which is about 3/8 inch wide.
These balls are pretty clean but I recommend that you put them into a ball jar with dishwasher detergent and run them for a few hours and rinse them for a final cleaning before using them
The mill should always be filled to about 50 to 55% of its volume with balls for best grinding results. Since the balls have space between them the actual mill volume will be equal to 50% of the mill that is empty + about 30% of the volume that is filled with balls or about 65% of the volume of the mill.
