SHEFFIELD Reference Height Gauge and box.
This is a pretty heavy tool. Overall height is 24 inches.
The head assembly can be moved up and down as well as the arm can be rotated up and down.
The instrument is clearly labeled SHEFFIELD but it is not clear that the box is or that the box is what this originally came in.
The box is Chesterman of Sheffield England. Geo. Scherr Co. of New York was the importer of the box.
