The Star Plater automated plating system is designed for a compact installation allowing a high throughput of small parts while utilizing a small amount of manufacturing floor space.
The plating system consists of a base manufactured of structural steel which is the support for sixteen Process tanks. The center of the base frame houses an elevator lift mechanism which has attached 18 or 36 work arms. The work arms hold the plating racks which in turn hold the parts to be electroplated. The arms have copper contacts to allow low voltage DC current to feed each plating rack at a maximum load of 500 amperes. The elevator will lift all 18/36 work arms at the same time, rotate 20 degrees to the next processing tank and then lower the work arms into the process solution. This movement continues after an infinitely variable dwell timer zeroes. The lift, rotate and lower sequence continues through out the production shift.
The Dual System installation consists of 2 Star Plater automated plating machines, holding 2 sets of process tanks, one set of circulating tanks, two sets of circulating pumps (one pump for each process tanks on each plating machine) and one set of electric heaters. Air blowers and piping is included for each Star Plater machine. Each plating system will have a set of Transfer tanks, one for each category of waste water (Alkaline, Cyanide and Acid). The contaminated waste water will accumulate in the transfer tank and will pump the water to the water treatment system, supplied by others.
