We have seen these used in industrial machinery area lighting situations where space is limited and there is not enough length for a 4 foot fixture and there is only limited mounting space in the other direction (its only one bulb wide). It provides light over about a 200 degree arc. We have seen them used in wall (vertical and horizontal) and ceiling type positions.
