Meriam well type manometers are the simplest manometers to use. Scales have zero at the bottom and maximum range at the top. With no moving parts to effect measurement, manometers remain very accurate for years. Only periodic cleaning of the glass tube and refilling with fresh indication fluid is needed.
Standard well type manometers will measure differential, vacuum or gauge pressure depending on how the process connections are made
